Partial Differential Equations and Fluid Mechanics

Tuesday 2nd September – Thursday 4th September 2025
University of Bath, UK
Figure from J. Scott Russel's "Report on Waves", 1844.

This conference focuses on rigorous methods for nonlinear problems and PDEs in fluid mechanics, with an emphasis on surface waves. It brings together leading experts in wave phenomena, vortex flows, Euler equations, Calculus of Variations, Elliptic PDEs, Dynamical Systems, and Bifurcation Theory to review progress and identify future research directions.

Travel advice

The University has a page with useful advice on how to travel to city of Bath and to the University campus. Those travelling to the workshop from outside the UK will probably require an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA). These are similar to the US ESTA visa waiver and can be obtained easily from a government website.
