Section B.1 Problem Sheet 1

Due 13 February at 4pm, either in class or in the pigeon hole in 4W.

The point of these exercises, and indeed Chapter 1 itself, is for us to ‘get our hands dirty’ as soon as possible with maximum principles. Many of these same ideas will resurface in Chapter 3, in the significantly more complicated context of elliptic equations.
